A Charming, Colorful Wedding On A Mango Farm
I feel really fortunate to have photographed engagement shoots, elopements and weddings for close friends. But nothing could have prepared me for how incredible Erin and Matt’s Los Tamarindos wedding would be. I’ve known Erin since middle school, and I was so honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding!
This was an extended session since we were in Los Tamarindos for the welcome party and the wedding day. But I was fully IN IT for all 16 hours of shooting, which felt like I got to experience their wedding like one of the guests at the wedding. By the end, I felt like one of the family.
It was such a special weekend, and I loved being able to capture every moment of Erin and Matt’s Los Tamarindos wedding.
Erin and Matt’s Journey
Erin and Matt met through a dating app when they lived in New York City. They now live in Chicago (with their sweet pup, Izzy) and couldn’t wait to plan their Los Tamarindos wedding. Erin had a lot of history with Mexican culture, as did Matt, so they wanted to celebrate in a place that meant something to them.
We arrived the day before for a welcome dinner in downtown San Jose, which gave us the opportunity to take some really cute local pre-wedding photos. And when the big day arrived, everyone got ready for the wedding at a nearby villa.
Erin and Matt were beyond adorable for their first look, and we captured a lot of great photos around the area. Plus, there were so many pops of color which made everything feel absolutely whimsical.
Soon it was time for the big Los Tamarindos wedding, and Erin and Matt’s guests joined them for their wedding on a local mango farm.
A Los Tamarindos Wedding On A Mango Farm
Erin and Matt had a sweet, colorful ceremony that was full of love and laughter. They wanted everyone to really experience the Mexican culture, so the reception was party central. They even had servers walking around the dance floor handing out tequila shots!
And the DJ created the COOLEST dance floor with a light-up floor and smoke machines. Dancing went late into the night as everyone celebrated the happy couple. By the end, it was hard to say goodbye to everyone.
Thoughts On The Day
Never in a million years did I imagine I’d be able to photograph my friend’s wedding on a mango farm in Los Taramindos. Seeing Erin and Matt together was like seeing two pieces of a puzzle come together, and I was so honored to be a part of their story.
As I look back on this event, I can’t help but feel extra grateful for the opportunity to experience the wedding from start to finish. It helped me craft a story that really captured what it was like to be there for Erin and Matt’s wedding. I loved every minute of it.
If you have a special event coming up, I’d love to hear about it!
