orcas island wedding celebration at doe bay resort

A perfect Pacific Northwest summer day in the San Juan Islands. Brooke and Josh’s Orcas Island celebration at Doe Bay Resort in the San Juan Islands was sooo beautiful, fun, and not what they had planned at all but turned out epic and amazing. Brooke and Josh first reached out to me in 2018 for their 2020 summer wedding, and I think at the time I wasn’t even booking that far out, but they reached back out in 2019 and we made it happen. Covid changed their plans and they ended up having an intimate elopement-style tiny wedding in 2020, which I couldn’t be there physically for but I was lucky enough to have Leesha King associate shoot it for me. CHECK THIS GALLERY OUT because omg it was so stunning and so special and it killed me not to be there myself. It was so fun to bring this gallery together and play with these edits… but then finally I got to meet them in 2021… 3 years after they reached out to me originally which might be my longest couple relationship ever. They still took advantage of their dream Doe Bay Resort wedding and threw a freakin EPIC anniversary loveeee party one year after they made it official. Orcas Island is stunning and Doe Bay Resort is AMAZING, it felt so good to finally see this come to life after years of dreaming about how beautiful this would be. The couple started by reading letters together on the bluff reflecting on their first year of marriage, then we hopped in a car and took photos around Orcas Island, before coming back to Doe Bay for the raddest anniversary party ever. Spicy margaritas, tacos, listening to speeches huddled up around each together, then POLECAT came out of retirement to play for the party… I can’t even begin to express how special this weekend was and this made me feel like anniversary parties should now be mandatory plz and thank you!!!!! Huge thank you to Kimaya at Cloud9 events for bringing this together. :) Rentals: Wander Events
