guam-inspired wedding at twin oaks house & gardens

Andrea and Jack’s wedding at Twin Oaks House and Gardens was one of my favorites of 2021. This couple met in Guam, where the bride is from and the groom was stationed at the time. They met at the gym, where they were competing for their time on a squat rack, and Andrea had an instant crush. In her own words - “Whenever I saw him at the gym, I found myself lingering there a little longer, and lucky for me it turns out he had been doing the same. A couple of girlfriends knew I had a crush on him, and they let me know he was at a bar one night. I arrived 'spontaneously' and was given an introduction. We've been smitten since.” The rest, they say, is history. When you’re around these two, it’s obvious how obsessed they are with each other, and they are SO fun to photograph as a result. This day was super emotional and filled with personal touches - a highlight being the Latte Stone at the ceremony alter, which is a Guam symbol of strength and identity, and a few other personal touches you’ll see around the reception tables. Everything about this day was so magical and felt like a fairytale; I have been so excited to share images!!!!! Twin Oaks House and Gardens is such a photogenic venue - the getting-ready room is stunning, the twinkle lights, the spot under the chandeliers where I set up their first look is one of my favorite spots, the greenhouse… this venue is becoming one of my favorites and so easy to shoot. AHR Florals, one of my favorite florists ever and a good friend, absolutely crushed it with the dreaminess and added to the fairytale vibes and everything about this turned out so incredible.
