Seattle Wedding at Admiral’s House
Seattle Wedding at Admiral’s House
Allie and David’s Admiral’s House wedding last August was exactly the kind of day I live to photograph—bright, colorful, tropical, and full of energy. Both Seattle transplants, they wanted a destination-style wedding for their guests, giving friends and family from out of town a taste of Seattle’s summer magic. The Admiral’s House made that easy: with its stunning waterfront views, airy architecture, and lush gardens, it’s the kind of venue that practically takes care of half your décor.
The property itself is rich with history. Built in the early 20th century, the Admiral’s House has long been a Seattle landmark, originally serving as the residence for high-ranking naval officers. Its classic architecture, waterfront setting, and garden terraces give couples a unique mix of historical charm and modern wedding flexibility. That history adds an extra layer of character to any Admiral’s House wedding, making it both elegant and relaxed—perfect for a summer celebration.
From their first inquiry, Allie and David knew exactly what they wanted. Their goal was simple: a big, fun party where everyone could relax, celebrate, and enjoy the day. They described their vibe as “fun, colorful, airy, and bright,” with colorful florals and a mix of candid moments plus a few posed family photos.
Guests wandered the gardens, sipped cocktails, and soaked in the views of Lake Union and the Seattle skyline. By the end of the night, the dance floor was full, drinks were flowing, and the whole Admiral’s House wedding felt effortless, just as Allie and David envisioned. If you’re looking for a Seattle wedding venue that’s as photogenic as it is fun, an Admiral’s House wedding delivers—and this celebration proves it.
A few highlights for me as their photographer! One, Allie designed her own invitations, which always blows my mind and is endlessly impressive to me. They turned out so well - I would have thought they were professionally designed. I was so impressed! I made sure to photograph them thoroughly and heavily. :) I also loved when they exchanged private vows in the sunroom of Admiral’s House - it was so emotional and intentional, and such a sweet way to start the celebrations. Lastly, this venue is photogenic all day long. The sunny views during the day are spectacular, but it gets even more beautiful as the sun sets and the city lights up the skyline. The photos during toasts/speeches were some of my favorite I’ve ever taken because of the absolutely delicious light behind them. I truly have so much fun at this venue - if you want to chat with me about shooting your Admiral’s House wedding - please reach out!!!
