Maddy & Joe’s Two-Day Wedding Celebration in Tacoma

Picture this: you just got engaged (yay!)…you want a small, intimate wedding, but your fiancé wants a big rager. What do you do? Take inspiration from Maddy and Joe! In the most iconic move ever, rather than one person compromising, they decided to have both. :D I also had the honor of shooting their courthouse elopement one year earlier - so technically I got to celebrate THREE wedding days with them and it was the best. A perfect May weekend in Tacoma set the stage for an epic pre-summer wedding multi-day celebration. Day one started at Hotel Murano for getting-ready and a private hotel-room first look and vow reading. Then we loaded up into my Subaru and headed to W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory for photos and their intimate ceremony. There’s something SO magical about shooting inside a greenhouse - it makes me freakin’ giddy looking at these images. We ended day one at Titlow Lodge with tacos, beers, toasts, and a very chill time. Everyone behaved in a very demure way and got a good nights sleep (even woke up the next morning to cold plunge) before day 2 festivities! Day two was all party: The Press Room was the backdrop for the rager and this new Tacoma venue was SUCH a vibe and so cool aesthetically. A pretty traditional reception: delicious dinner, toasts, cocktails, dance party, followed by their AFTER PARTY at a nearby bar where the couple and guests karaoke'-d the night away. This wedding was an example of YOUR wedding, YOUR way, throwing out the rules and doing whatever the hell you want. My kinda couple. Love these people and loved this weekend deeply.
