As a Seattle wedding photographer, I live for weddings that embrace BIG party energy, bold color, heartfelt moments, and iconic city vibes—and this summer wedding at Fremont Foundry was the perfect combination of all four. Located in the heart of Seattle’s quirky Fremont neighborhood, this modern industrial venue gave us the perfect backdrop for a celebration that was as lively and unforgettable as this badass couple. I offered them a mix of film & digital to add to the vibe, and I have fallen in love with the process (check them out side by side below). Fremont Foundry is a favorite among Seattle couples who want a space that feels both urban and artistic. Its industrial-chic architecture, expansive rooftop, and natural light-filled atrium create endless opportunities for stunning photographs. As a Seattle wedding photographer, I love how this venue allows for creativity—from rooftop first looks against the city skyline to intimate indoor portraits framed by steel beams and bright murals.

A Colorful Summer Celebration

This wedding was all about color—lush florals in bold jewel tones, vibrant table settings, and summer sunlight flooding every space. From the moment guests arrived, the celebration radiated joy and personality and the energy was HIGH. My fav. :D

Ceremony on the Rooftop: With sweeping views of Lake Union and the Seattle skyline, the rooftop set the stage for a heartfelt ceremony surrounded by cascading florals in fuchsia, coral, and golden hues.
Playful Portraits: We explored the nearby Fremont streets—complete with murals, funky sculptures, and hidden greenery—for portraits that felt as lively and unique.
Reception in the Atrium: Exposed brick, warm lighting, and colorful centerpieces brought the atrium to life as guests dined and danced late into the night.

Tips for Couples Planning a Fremont Foundry Wedding

As a Seattle wedding photographer, here’s what I recommend for couples considering this venue:

Cocktail Hour Photos: Plan a quick sunset break during your reception or cocktail hour to sneak away for breathtaking golden-hour portraits. A walk around the neighborhood is the perfect way to regroup as a couple and take advantage of the funky neighborhood.
Incorporate the Neighborhood: Fremont is filled with artful nooks and iconic landmarks (hello, Fremont Troll!) that make your wedding album uniquely Seattle.
Take Advantage of the Space Pre-Ceremony: Once guests arrive, it’s hard to take advantage of the indoor space OR rooftop for private portraits. Be sure to utilize all of that before guests arrive during the first look time.
