sunset cliffs wedding + party at the pendry

Kaylie and Mason’s galleries was one of my favorites ever and I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get it on my blog! Their ceremony was at iconic Sunset Cliffs followed by an evening at Lionfish inside the Pendry in downtown San Diego - such a perfect combination of locations to show off this incredible city. This wedding was SO fun, a little nontraditional, and a blast to shoot. What’s crazy is I didn’t even have a personal connection to the Pendry or Lionfish back then, but now, my fiancé moved to San Diego and is a chef at Lionfish at the Pendry, so I love these photos even more now because this place is so near and dear to my heart!!!
Kaylie was absolutely stunning in a Grace Loves Lace dress, one of my personal favorite gown lines. The hotel rooms in the Pendry are so pretty and fun to shoot in - I loved putting her in front of all the soft white curtains with the incredible views - omg. These made for some of my favorite getting-ready photos ever. Then the architecture of the Pendry makes for SUCH fun first look and portrait opportunities, we had a blast going to some of my favorite spots around the hotel for photos before the ceremony (and their precious pup Penny joined us for some as well!). A shuttle took everyone from the hotel to sunset cliffs, where they had the perfect sunny San Diego ceremony. Then their harsh light portraits we took after the ceremony were some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. After the ceremony, the shuttle took everyone back to the Pendry where they had the private event room in Lionfish for a casual dinner-party reception and it was perfection. Then the next day, the couple had a boat party rager for a bigger and more informal reception - I LOVE how they set up their whole wedding weekend. This was so fun to shoot and SUCH a special one to me, I love these images so much!!!!
