boho desert wedding at hey babe ranch

Gary and Linda’s wedding at Hey Babe Ranch in Alpine, CA was an edgy boho DREAM to shoot. Hey Babe Ranch was the perfect setting for the vibe they were going for - they originally wanted to get married in Joshua Tree, but fell in love with this venue instead. I’ve shot weddings in Joshua Tree and honestly this setting looked SO similar - it totally hit that vibe and had all the desert glory! San Diego blows my mind - in just about a half hour drive away from the city, you can find yourself here! Nestled up in the mountains with the desert hills as far as you can see.
These two have SUCH great style and taste - Linda’s dress from Dreamers and Lovers was the perfect combo of boho + edgy and her headpiece was SO cool. It really brought her look together! This girl looked like a freaking QUEEN. The dark green bridesmaid dresses were so striking - I realized I don’t know if I’ve ever gotten to shoot dark green bridesmaid dresses! The color was such a great contrast against the warm desert hills and the warm color palette of the details. Gary found a green velvet jacket as a last minute addition to his look and it was so unique and cool (and the boys green bowties were perfect). All the details were so well done too (by The Mintery!). Such a fun color palette and absolutely perfect in the desert. Their head table was complete with a skull-head and giant chairs fit for a king + queen! The guests’s party favors were cute little pins OF THE COUPLE, haha. This wedding was styled like a styled shoot but even better because it was real life. :)
It wasn’t only aesthetically awesome - these two had SO MUCH FUN. I love my job, and of course it’s fun when a wedding is aesthetically on point or has incredible style. But just that wouldn’t be enough. If it was only that, that alone wouldn’t sustain me through long wedding seasons and make me excited to get up in the morning. What makes me excited is photographing my couples having the best day of their life and preserving those memories for them (and if it’s really-well styled that’s just an added bonus!). Coming alongside them and helping them through the day - helping them stay present and in the moment and keeping them excited about the right things. These two had such a fun day and spending time with their people was at the very top of their priorities for their wedding day - I’ve NEVER seen such a hype crew around a couple. Their friends and family were so excited and supportive and there to party with them every step of the way. It was truly a perfect day and I am so stoked on these images!
